Yep! It’s that time of year again!
I’m reflecting on my
crappy 2014 that was supposed to be absolutely fabulously amazing (some of it was and some of it wasn’t) and moving towards making 2015 100% Absolutely Fabulous!
That means better planning, more creating, being more diligent, less procrastination & laziness, doing some serious decluttering and ass-kicking! … And more self-care!
But before I do that, I want to fine tune my intentions.
Intentions? Don’t you mean resolutions?
Um … NO! I don’t do resolutions. I don’t keep them. So there’s no point in making them. **shrugs** Who does? Seriously?! And those who say they do? Are they really being honest? Yeah … I am pretty sure not totally honest.
Intentions, however? Those are my goals; the things I “intend” to do, but don’t always reach them 100%. And I don’t beat myself up or feel guilty about not reaching them 100%. … Okay … unless I procrastinate and am lazy about it. Then I feel guilty. But I digress!
And, yes, I know! I’ve done such a great job this 2014. (Dripping with sarcasm!)
I accept that. And I’m ready to step up for 2015.
That is the magick of intentions!
Let’s Review 2014
You always need a starting point. Even with intentions, goals & focus.
Spend a little time reflecting on your 2014. Don’t freak out or fuss about it if you didn’t write your intentions and goals for 2014. It’s all good! Just take some time to reflect on the past year.
Don’t beat yourself up about what you should have done or you should not have done. Just see it for what it is. Stop judging yourself and comparing yourself. I understand that is not an easy thing to do. Believe me! I totally know how hard that is NOT to do. Just set yourself up for a 15 – 30 minute “No Judgement” review session, aka my “No Judgement Braindump”.
What do you want 2015 to look like?
Now it’s time to envision your 2015!
How do you want to feel? How do you want to BE? What do you want to do? What do you NOT want to do?
Don’t freak about it and don’t stress either. Just envision what you want your Absolutely Fabulous 2015 to look like!
Now, braindump the crap out of that vision!!!
And, again, NO JUDGMENTS! Seriously!
Here’s where the Magick comes in!
Get up and go do something else! Set that piece of paper aside, for now, and focus your attentions on something totally NOT RELATED to what you just did.
No! I mean it!! Get away from that braindump and enjoy the rest of your morning, afternoon, day, whatever!
Okay, honestly, I went and did some dishes, switched out the laundry, hung some clothes up, freaked out about what I forget to add to my braindump and ran upstairs and added them to my braindump. I think I did that twice. HAHA!
Seriously, just let the braindump go.
Now being the Virgo that I am, I only stayed away from my braindump for a few hours. But I did distract myself with other things (chores, legos with Master Beastie, picking up after Master Beastie, bright and shinies on my iDevice, you know … the Uzh).
Keeping yourself distracted, even for a little while, is what helps the magick of intentions bubble and boil and brew.
Let’s create your Absolutely Fabulous 2015!
Go back to what you envisioned your 2015 to look like. Read what you wrote. Reread what you wrote. Add notes. Scratch things out. Then prioritize your list.
Yep! I hate to tell you, but you just created your intentions. Holy crap, Batman!
Oh look! You made goals for 2015!
And you keep telling me you aren’t a goal oriented person! Pee-shaw!!! Guess what?!? Everyone is goal oriented, some of us just do it differently than others!
Three things I’m asking you to do.
First — Listen to Chris Evan’s superhero wisdom on facing your fears! Seriously! PLAY the video! Why resay it, when you can hear it from his delicious lips?!? Right?!?! 😀
Second — read 7 Ways to Create an Amazing 2014. It should say YEAR because those 7 things are truly evergreen and timeless!
Third — share your intentions with me! Go ahead and tell me what you’re going to do in 2015! When you share with others, you have a better chance of making them happen!
Another bonus of the magick of intentions — sharing them with others!
P.S. Here are some resources that I used to help plan out my year!
