I’m a huge advocate of blogging for your business. The benefits for having a blog far out weigh any disadvantage.

What?!? Blogging can have disadvantages? The thought is mind boggling to me, too.

However, if you are not blogging on topic, are too personal — YES there is such thing as TMI (too much information), hit your blog so rarely that people forget about you, or other things like that, it really could do more harm to your bottom line than benefit it.

In other words, not blogging for your business is much like leaving money on the table. Okay, more like EXACTLY like leaving money on the table.

I talked about how blogging is crucial for your business nearly four years ago, if you’re interested in the old post. But it’s not nearly as awesome as this one. Seriously!

So what are the benefits of blogging for your business, you may wonder? Read on my friend! Because I’m going to tell you!

Here are 5 important reasons why you need to be blogging for your business!

5 Reasons Why You NEED to be Blogging for YOUR Business

#1 ~ Your blog gives you a platform to share your expertise.

Whether you blog once a month, every 2 weeks, weekly or every day, make sure the content you share with the World helps bring you one step closer to your goals and intentions. Sharing what you know and how you can help others is so important.

Curating content for a blog helps put that knowledge and expertise out there so your ideal clients will find you and sign up with you! It’s all about sharing your unique gifts with the World.

#2 ~ Blogging establishes credibility.

Yes! Blogging for your business creates credibility, which is important because that, in turn, builds trust and loyalty with your readers. They will come back to learn more and share with their sphere of influence. They’ll sign up for your optin gifts. And eventually, if not right away, become your clients.

The best part? Those awesome clients will refer you to their friends. Which could very well bring more awesome clients! It’s a beautiful circle of awesomeness!

#3 ~ Your Blog helps you build relationships.

This is really the culmination of #1 and #2. Sharing your stories and your expertise both lead to building relationships with your readers. They get to know you through what you share with the World. How you cultivate those relationships has a HUGE impact on whether they become your biggest cheerleader or better yet, your next best client.

Reply to comments, bring the conversations to your social media pages, address them by their FIRST name, thank them for sharing your stuff, comment on their blogs and whatever else you can do makes such a difference!

#4 ~ Blogging expands your reach.

If your readers like your posts, can relate to it somehow, or feel emotional attached to your subject matter, they WILL share it! And if their friends like it, they, in turn, will share it. And share and share and share.

Well, that’s what we hope happens, anyhow, because SHARING your content is so important to helping your business grow and expands your reach.

So make sure you have sharing buttons on ALL your posts! If there are not social sharing buttons, your readers cannot share your posts. Believe me … most readers will NOT take the extra 5 to 10  seconds it takes to copy and paste the link into their favorite social media network to share your stuff. So make sure you have sharing buttons!

#5 ~ Your blog helps you grow your list!

Yep! I said it. Blogging for your business should include growing your list. The more subscribers you have, the more chance you have of your readers signing on as a new client or purchasing something from you.

This means having at least 1 optin box on every page of your blogsite. It’s a good to have something to offer in exchange for a reader’s email address, too, but you don’t always have to. And also sending out regular ezines or newsletters. This could be weekly, biweekly or monthly, depending what works best for you and your business.

You don’t have to be blogging for your business, but it really does help you grow your business in so many beneficial ways. The biggest benefit giving you a platform to share what you know with World so you can support the life you want and deserve.

It’s work — I’m not going to lie. You NEED to take action and be consistent. But if you put in the effort and time, you will get where you want to go!
